Two Early Morning Blasts in Islamabad Killed One

Mohammad Ali, another police official, told reporters that the second bomb went off in a car. “The low-intensity explosive was planted in a car. The blast has badly damaged the car but no one was hurt,” he said.

The capital city of Pakistan, Islamabad, was rocked by two explosions early in the morning resulting in death of one security guard and injuring another one. According to senior police offiicals, the first blast at 2:00AM near the shopping center killed one watchman. The second blast in other part of city occurred about half an hour later. No body was injured or killed in the second blast.

Chaudhry Hafiz Hussain, a senior police official told reporters that one watchman has died in the hospital. “He was very critically wounded and did not survive”, added Hussain. “The second watchman is getting medical treatment”.

Another police official, Mohammad Ali, told reporters that the second bomb exploded in a car. “The low-intensity explosive was planted in a car” said Ali. “The blast has badly damaged the car but no one was hurt.”

The two blasts are first after the blast in the fruit and vegetable market in Islamabad that killed 22 people in April this year. The blasts are expected to be carried out by Taliban in Pakistan as the offensive against their hideouts continued to be targeted by Pakistan army for the last three days.
