US missile strike kills 20 suspected militants in Pakistan

Four missiles fired from unmanned United States drone in the North Wazirisitan tribal region of Pakistan has killed at least 20 suspected militants on Wednesday July 16, 2014. The identities of the persons died in the missile attack are yet to be verified.

According to media reports, the US drone fired 4 missiles on a compound in Saidgai area of Dattakhel in North Waziristan completely destroying the compound and killing 20 militants present at the location.  Five person were also injured in the attack.

The US drone also targeted a vehicle which was also destroyed. According to witnesses drones continued to fly in the area for some time.

It is the third missile attack in the North Waziristan area of Pakistan by the US drones during this year.

Pakistan has protested the drone attacks in the past as these violate the international laws and sovereignty of the country.

Pakistan armed forces are engaged in the North Waziristan area in an operation against the Taliban militants.
