Two suspected suicide bombers may target PTI and PAT rallies

Two suspected suicide bombers may target Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) sit-ins according the Pakistan’s Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan who spoke to the reporters on Saturday August 16, 2014 in Islamabad.

The Interior Minister told reporters that according to the intelligence reports from the government agencies, two suicide bombers have entered the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi to target the participants of the two different rallies of PTI and PAT activists.

Nisar Khan said that we have asked the leaders of PTI and PAT to coordinate with the capital city administration on security measures to avoid any possible terrorist attack.

Interior Minister stressed that he does not want to create panic with the news of presence of suicide bombers, but wants to alert the organizers of the PTI and PAT to become more vigilant and cooperate with the security agencies to to protect the workers.

Chaudhry Nisar told reporters that over 30,000 security personals have been deployed for the safety of the PAT and PTI activists.
