Nawaz and Zardari meeting to discuss political impasse

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has invited former President of Pakistan and co-chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party Asif Ali Zardari on a lunch meeting to discuss the political situation in the country due to the protest sit-ins of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Pakistan Awami Tehreek outside Parliament House in the capital of Pakistan.

The two political leaders will meet on Saturday August 23, 2014 at the Nawaz Sharif’s residence in Raiwind. Pakistan People Party is in opposition in the National Assembly.

Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari will be accompanied by other party leaders. Existing political impasse will be the topic of the discussion and two leaders will try to come up with the solution acceptable to all parties.

Imran Khan and Dr Tahirul Qadri have indicated that they will accept nothing less than resignation of Nawaz Sharif as Prime Minister.

Nawaz Sharif has categorically refused to tender his resignation as Prime Minister.
