Reham Khan, the former wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan, has reportedly left Pakistan after receiving death threats. The news came a day after the former anchor said that she would break her silence on ‘certain matters’.

Just a day before, Reham had opened up about her opinion about the PTI chief’s third marriage in an interview to a news channel. She said that she had known about Imran and Bushra Maneka’s marriage for a while and that the PTI chief must be hiding it for ‘personal reasons’.

“May be he has some obligations, or maybe he thinks the time right now isn’t suitable for him to announce his marriage publicly,” she said.

Reham had also expressed discontent with the Supreme Court of Pakistan, saying she did not understand “how the highest court of law could label [Imran] sadiq and ameen.”

According to a private news channel, Reham had confirmed to them that she had flown out on Sunday evening. She told the news outlet that she had been receiving threats through phone calls that were made to her staff.

She even shared an audio recording with the channel in which a coordinator of the Reham Khan Foundation could be heard saying that he had been receiving threatening calls warning him about working with Reham.

The former anchor further elaborated that she had been receiving threats since September, due to which she made the decision to leave the country.

Reham said that she even had to discontinue her daughter’s education because of the threats. The former anchor said that she was extremely distressed because she did not have any kind of support from any political party.

The reason for the threats and their possible source was not shared by Reham.
