Let’s rock English style – Meera is the new language

After the colonization era, Brits had left behind a gift for us and for all other colonies, Language! As the one of the most powerful state of that time, their language was made official in colonies that they ruled. Nowadays, most of the Asian countries, whenever interact, they use English as a medium of verbal communication.

Well with modernization or we should say, westernization striking Pakistan in the 90’s, speaking English other than Urdu was included in latest fashion. As we know, our generation is all about who is the most glamorous!

Nearly everyone in Pakistan, if we consider the people living in metropolitan cities like the capital, Karachi, Lahore etc, tend to communicate verbally by using English, as it shows how well mannered you are. One good medium to learn English is watch television and listen to how people talk.

Well luckily we have one good teacher of this international language that knows all the perfect ways to make us learn, Meera! Yes of course, whenever Meera tends to display her communicational skills on TV, she puts up such an act that there needs to be an ending add that should say, “Kids, in the lord’s name, don’t and I repeat, don’t try this at home, school or anywhere else! This is only if you are trying to make people laugh their heads off!!”

I guess the number of times Meera has made news through her amazing vocabulary is just uncountable. Well no, I’d rather put it this way, unimaginable and hilarious. There have been a number of incidents our top star has made us learn English because as she quotes “thank Gods, English only comes to me!!”

One of her best performance was when she hosted a TV show, according to Meera, with a fashion “fartografer” , Tapu Javeri where she gave a long lecture on how do we interact with people on a show.

So if we have to take a commercial break while hosting Meera says and I quote “we will be the back! After… right … short… break” (yes that is the correct grammar). Secondly if you suddenly need to go to the restroom Meera delivers the following lines “I hate to cut you off but I have to go to the bathroom break!!”

Apart from a teacher, our super star has also done a lot of work for humanity. After the havoc created by the floods last year, Meera went to a village that had been submerged in water and when she came back she was asked about what she had seen, Meera replied “Jis Gali Mein Dekha, Water is understanding!!”

If one thinks that that Meera is any less than a top model of Pakistan, then they are mistaken and she puts it on her own words “People death on me!!”

Last but not the least our lovely Meera is not an illiterate person. She has declared that she is a qualified person, MSc. No! Not Masters in Sciences rather Mother of Six Children, however, her husband is less qualified, FSc. Yes! You got it right this time, Father of Six children.

Meera has an ambitious personality and a great icon in the film industry of Pakistan. With a diverse personality, she still has a lot of wishes to pursue because as she quotes “All the times, wishes ki birth hoti rehti hai mere andar” and when that is happening we really don’t need a comedian to cheer us up!
