Shahrukh Khan thrilled by Ra One’s success

The Badshah of Bollywood, Shahrukh Khan is a happy man at the moment, as his science fiction flick, Ra One has smashed all previous records in both Indian and overseas Box office.

Released on this Diwali, October 26, 2011, the movie earned 170 crores at the global collection within the first week. Red Chillies Entertainment, owned by SRK and his wife Gauri Khan, spent almost 150 crores on the movie, as it was a heavy production film.

The financers are jubilant these days, as the movie earned Rs. 137.25 crores in India and Rs. 32.75 crore overseas in five days weekend, setting a new record in the collection centres.

SRK, who did not leave any stone unturned for the promotion of his ambitious project, has expressed enormous delight over the success of his superhero movie and congratulated his production crew.

On his Twitter page, SRK wrote, "Ga Ga ooh la la…Ra Ra Ra.One. Thrilled with response. Congratulations to my business partners."

The King Khan retweeted, "As always, my heart doesn’t crunch numbers and heroes don’t count zeros…but it’s nice to know how ‘Ra.One’ is flying."

There are several reasons behind Ra One’s momentous success on the box office. The film hit screens in more than 4000 cinemas across the globe – the highest number of theatres for a Hindi movie ever in the history.

Moreover, SRK did everything to promote his movie and it is said that he never worked so hard for the promotion of any of his previous movies.

Since he has already sold out movie’s satellite rights for 37 crores, music rights for eight crores and ancillary rights for 10 crores, the science fiction picture is all set to become the biggest movie in Bollywood

The story of the film is all about a superhero, Jeevan – somebody who saves his kid from the Villain, Ra One. SRK has performed the role of superhero while the well-known actor, Arjun Rampal was seen in the evil character.

SRK’s next movie ‘DON 2’ will hit cinemas by the end of this year. The success of Ra One is being considered as a positive sign for Shahrukh’s next projects.
