Taliban Militants kill five soldiers and injures three others

Taliban militants launched an offence on a convoy in Miranshah District of North Western Province of Pakistan.  Militants launched their attack on Saturday, November 05 as the Muslims across the globe observe the holy day of Hajj.

According to initial reports, Militants attacked the security convey near the town of the Razmak town. Razmak town is situated more than 50 kilometers South of Miranshah on the border of the troubled Northern Waziristan agency along the Afghan border.

The Taliban’s ambush resulted in killing of five soldiers and injuring three others.  The incident was confirmed by a security personal in the Peshawar in an interview to AFP.

Another Miranshah based security official provided the details of the incident. He termed the convey movement as a general routine movement from one point to other. Militants attacked the convey with automatic weapons, rockets and hand grenades.

Official confirmed Troops retaliated immediately with the available weapons. However, no Taliban causality has been reported.

North Waziristan is the primary target of US drone attacks. It is widely believed by the Americans and NATO that the agency hosts number of Taliban and Al Qaeda linked fighters are present there. Americans alleged these fighters for attacks in Afghanistan.

US have termed North Waziristan as headquarter of international terrorism; and has been pressing Pakistan for launching a ground offence in the region. However, both Pakistani civilian government and Military establishment are against for launching an offence
in the area and deemed it against their national interest.
