Zardari’s comeback

The breezes produced by the plane that brought President Asif Ali Zardari back to Pakistan boasted away a series of speculation, as it landed at the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Masroor, in Karachi.

All type of rumors, speculations and gossips were let loose when the president made a return to the country, defying the advice of doctors to take rest. Every flight of fancy in measured fair play, from the assertions that Asif Ali Zardari was not longer
able to discharge his responsibilities and should thence, in accordance with Article 47 of the Constitution, be detached from his post.

There were speculations that President Asif Ali Zardari will not make a comeback to the country, when a week ago he left for Dubai for medical reasons after suffering a transient ischemic attack.

The pundits were of the view that the president was not in mind to face the persecution under the NRO (National Reconciliation Ordinance). The memogate was one of the major causes the analysts were declaring reason for his exit.

The TV anchors and hosts, evening after evening, have been obsessed on this situation. However, the president’s mysterious return proved all their predictions and guesses wrong.

Hopefully, the president’s comeback will also help in dampening the condition of uncertainty that has gripped the entire country as a result of reams of conjecture and overabundance of news items.

The situation will further move towards normalization when Asif Ali Zardari will hold a series of political meetings in the coming weeks.

The prompt developments in the past few days indicate one thing that how quickly stories of all type can be produced. One cannot have an idea how abruptly political pundits change their stances.

However, it is cognizable that the president will not give up even he is pinned to the ropes. He had spent more than a decade in jail that made him more powerful and solitaire person.

Apart from many demerits, Asif Ali Zardari has plenty of courage to fight for the power. It is quite a tough challenge for Zardari to save the civilian setup, as the Supreme Court is not in mood to forgive anyone while military is also ready to make another
adventure.
