Imran Khan’s bigger six: Firebrand Javed Hashmi joins hands with PTI

Javed Hashmi, the senior vice president and hothead politician of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N, finally joined the Pakistan Tereek-e-Insaf (PTI), quitting the party to which he fought for years.

As he reached the airport to take a flight for Karachi, he announced that he joined hands with Imran Khan to save the country.

The PML-N workers blocked the road in a bid to stop him for arriving airport, however, Hashmi managed to reach there. The workers expressed cohesion for their party, chanting slogans in favor of the leadership. It is expected that PTI Chief Imran Khan will
receive Hashmi at the Karachi airport.

The PML-N failed in its last attempt to stop Makhdom Javed Hashmi, the dissident leader of the party, from joining hands with Imran Khan, who is looking omen of change in the country.

Until today, the PML-N officials were optimistic that they will convince Javed Hashmi by addressing his concerns genuinely and they will not let the party asset like him to party ways with them.

It is vital to mention here that the Javed Hashmi steered the PML-N as its acting president during the absence of party top leadership in exile, back in the Pervez Musharraf’s regime. It is definitely a major setback for PML-N that one of the vociferous
leader of the party.

A day earlier, Javed Hashmi while speaking to the media said that that he had conveyed his reservations to the party’s top leadership. He informed that he had spoken to Mian Nawaz Sharif on the phone and Kulsoom Nawaz in person to discuss his change of mind
about political future.

Hashmi went on to say that the PTI could bring a big change in the country, but how big a change will it be was hard to note in advance. “I also long for a change, and that’s exactly what I was up to now", he added.

He observed that he did not practice politics for power rather politics of masses. He rejected the impression that would have joined the PTI for securing a commanding position or a prominent portfolio.

In his view, Shah Mehmood Qureshi and he (Hashmi), both the Southern Punjab leaders, can bring miracles in development of the region.
