Former Pakistan Prime Minister and the PML-N chief, Nawaz Sharif feels Pakistan Peoples Party government and its allies are responsible for the problems prevailing in the country.

The PML-N chief was speaking at a ceremony held at the Punjab University for the distribution of laptops among the talented students of the province under Punjab governments e-Youth Initiative programme.

Citing India as an example of progressing democratic nation, Nawaz said that the martial laws and dictatorship had put the country on a backward path. He also took a dig at the sitting democratic government of Pakistan Peoples Party, holding them responsible for country’s problem. He, however, was hopeful about Pakistan’s future.

“The situation is bad but I am still hopeful,” said the former premier. “Pakistan’s future will be brighter because of its youth, and God willing, the nation will stand up again.”

He further added that his party was providing laptops and education to the youth and not guns. “We don’t just talk about change. We are bringing a change,” said Nawaz vowing that laptops would reach every corner of the country if his party won the upcoming general elections of Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that Pakistan Peoples Party will remain in power with people’s support.

Speaking at the Pakistan Zindabad Show, organised at the Pakistan China Friendship Centre, Gilani said PPP government’s power is the trust of people and the party will remain in power as long as the people support it.

“The government has completed its four years but because of the speed breakers that others have tried to impose, we had to waste some of our energies, which could have been spent for the welfare of the people,” the PM said.
