Bilawal seeks justice from apex court in ZA Bhutto’s reference case

Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Tuesday sought justice from the Supreme Court saying the ZA Bhutto reference case, pending with the apex court provides a golden opportunity to correct the mistakes of the past.

While addressing the PPP’s Central Executive Committee at Naudero on the eve of the 33rd death anniversary of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto here on Tuesday Bilawal hoped SC will not repeat its double standards for provinces.

“A prime minister from Sindh was hanged while a prime minister from the Punjab was freed. Let’s hope the court will not repeat its double standards,” said the PPP chairman.

The address in Larkana was Bilawal’s first political address since appointed Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party in 2008 and analysts are seeing it as his formal launch into politics.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, reportedly, sought apology from the apex court as an institution, for the judicial murder of former premier Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.

“We expect the Supreme Court to apologise for the role it played in the judicial murder of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.”

Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani also attended the congregation. Gesturing to PM, Bilawal said, “You may lose your government, but you would not desecrate the graves of the martyrs…History has proven us innocent. History will prove us innocent…the Bhuttos of Larkana will also see justice being done…there is a court beyond the Supreme Court — the court of the people of Pakistan.”
