Karin Prinsloo and Chad Le Clos win swimming events – South African LC Nationals

Karin Prinsloo and Chad Le Clos won gold medal of the gold medal of the Women’s 200m freestyle and Men’s 200m butterfly respectively at the South African Long Course Nationals on Thursday, April 19.

The 22-year-old Prinsloo proved her mettle for gold medal of the 200m discipline by producing a time of 1 minute and 59.53 seconds. She was followed by Leone Vorster, who stayed considerably slower from her and tapped the wall with the timing of 2 minutes
and 00.47 seconds for silver medal.

Vorster was trailed by Wendy A Trott, who occupied bronze medal of the discipline by posting an effort of 2 minutes and 02.80 seconds.

Trott was chased by Kyna Pereira, who stayed nearly two seconds slower and settled on the finishing end as fourth best finisher with an effort of 2 minutes and 04.61 seconds.

Pereira was chased by Kayla Ferreira, who remained just an inch slower from her and completed her race with the timing of 2 minutes and 04.71 seconds.

In the meantime, Chad Le Clos dominated the Men’s 200m butterfly playoff. The 20-year-old Le Clos smothered his opponents with his nerve-wracking efforts in the four-lap event, where he captured gold medal of the event with the timing of 1 minute and 56.17
seconds.

The champion was trailed by Sebastian Rousseau, who earned silver medal of the discipline by clocking a time of 1 minute and 57.88 seconds. Rousseau was trailed by Dylan Bosch, who finished his swim in third place by posting 1 minute and 59.57 seconds.

Following that, Kathryn Meaklim seized the crown of Women’s 200m Individual Medley (IM) by submitting a time of 2 minutes and 13.64 seconds. Her title claiming effort was chased by Jessica Pengelly, who accomplished silver medal of the discipline by hitting
the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 17.06 seconds.

Pengelly was trailed by Rene D Warnes, who achieved bronze medal of the discipline by posting a time of 2 minutes and 19.50 seconds.

Furthermore, the session ended after the completion of all scheduled events.
