Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster 2012: Full Review – Part 1

The new Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster 2012 model is out for the top buck in street sports cars. The manoeuvring is smooth and it snakes through the corners making a strong statement. Though the gear box much to be desired, it has got a good midlevel audio system and the coach work simply states the company’s exquisite taste in leather and metal.

The 2012 V8 Vantage is a fashion statement that is closely related to the fictional British spy James Bond 007. Though your friends’ first yell on you in this car will be, Are you 007, but still the styling is what overshadows all of that.

The cabin tech is loosely bound and the electronics is owned and installed by Aston Martin, which is not one of their strong suits. In terms of power, the car has been tuned down to a mere 470 horse powers. However, cornering is good and it gets a beasty instinct when the Sports mode is turned on.

The gear box is a disappointment in both full automatic and automatic manual shifts. However, that only happens in low city speeds, the car runs a streak on the highways without any transmission jitters.

The design is massively inherited from the Aston Martin’s genes that have made their way in the company’s cars over the better part of last one decade. The design is aerodynamically perfect for high speeds, however, do not expect the efficiency of a Lamborghini Aventedor or Ferrari 458 Italia.

Under the hood resides the 4.7-litre V8 mill that produces 470 horse powers to the rear wheels. The 8-speed optional automatic manual gear box with, surprisingly, single clutch system sits at the back for better weight distribution. The engine produces 346 pound-feet of torque that with the help of 470 horses takes the car to 60 miles per hours in a quick 4.7 seconds.
