The 1,280×1,024-pixel maximum resolution webcam nestled on the top bezel of the screen is good for video chatting. It takes photos and videos with good ambiance. CyberLink YouCam 3 software is preinstalled for chatting.

Hardware

The base model priced at $1299 has a 1.7GHz Intel Core i5-3317U processor, 4GB of RAM, and a 128GB solid-state drive (SSD). The aforementioned is a standard configuration for any ultrabook at this price every device is stuck in the thick of it. However, unlike some of its competition the Series 9 is upgradable. For example, the user can upgrade to Windows 7 Professional for an extra $100.

There is another variant in the new model available for $1699. This version has Windows 7 Professional, a faster 1.9 GHz Core i7-3517U processor, and a 256GB SSD, but the same 4GB of RAM (which, like the MacBook Air, is non-upgradable). If you want more RAM, consider a larger 15-inch Series 9, which at $1,799 has the 256GB SSD, Core i7 processor, 8GB of RAM, and Windows 7 Professional.

That was all about the interior as there are not optical drives or dedicated graphics cards. The exterior has all the required ports for but with a pun. There are two USB ports, one USB 3.0 and one USB 2.0. In addition, there are micro-HDMI, micro-Ethernet and micro-VGA ports. However, only the micro-Ethernet has been provided with a dongle. The user will have to shell out the money for other adaptors.
