Michael McBroom and Missy Franklin win gold medals – AT&T Winter National Championships

Michael McBroom and Missy Franklin won gold medals of the Women’s 200 yards backstroke and Men’s 1650 yards freestyle at the 2012 AT&T Winter National Championships in Austin, USA.

He remained in a lead of nearly 50 yards over his toughest competitor and surfaced on the finishing end for gold medal by producing a time of 14 minutes and 40.10 seconds for gold medal.

The gold medallist was trailed by Ervin Pinion, who was 16.37 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and surfaced on the wall for silver medal by producing an effort of 14 minutes and 56.47 seconds.

Pinion was followed by Cristian Quintero, who stayed four and a half body lengths behind and tapped the wall for third position with a timing of 15 minutes and 00.79 seconds.

Quintero was chased by Jordan Wilimovsky, who remained 11.12 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and settled on the wall as fourth fastest swimmer by posting a time of 15 minutes and 11.91 seconds.

Fifth spot of the event was secured by Theodore Singley, who was 1.50 seconds apart and reached the wall with the timing of 15 minutes and 12.41 seconds.

Following that, Franklin captured the title of 200 yards backstroke. She enjoyed an advantage of nearly two body lengths over her strongest competitor and tapped the wall for the title by clocking an effort of 1 minute and 49.18 seconds.

The champion was traced by Bonnie Brandon, who remained 2.31 seconds slower from her and occupied silver medal of the race by producing a time of 1 minute and 51.49 seconds.

Brandon was chased by Kylie Stewart, who was more than a body length slower from her foregoing finisher and reached the wall for third position by posting a time of 1 minute and 52.77 seconds.

Stewart remained 1.20 seconds faster from Brooklyn Snodgrass, who was unable to secure a spot on the medal rostrum and finished fourth in the race by posting a time of 1 minute and 53.97 seconds.

Furthermore, the position holders received medals and accolades for their impeccable efforts at the victory ceremony of the tournament.
