Senior Kashmiri leaders from the Indian-occupied Kashmir will hold talks with Pakistani leaders in the coming days on solution to the long-standing dispute, still in a main hurdle in relationship between Pakistan and India.

A seven-member delegation of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) is scheduled to begin a week-long visit to Pakistan on Saturday at the invitation of Pakistani government.

The delegation is led by the APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and its other members are Professor Abdul Ghani Butt, Maulana Abbas Ansari, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi, Bilal Ghani Lone, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza and Musaddiq Aadil.

During their stay in Pakistan, the APHC leaders will hold discussions as part of consultation process with the Pakistani political leadership on the Kashmir dispute and brief the people belonging to different quarters about the prevailing situation in occupied Kashmir.

They will also apprise them of the efforts being made by the Hurriyet Conference for resolution of the Kashmir dispute. The APHC leaders will also visit Azad Jammu and Kashmir and meet with political leadership of AJK.

Meanwhile, the APHC Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has urged India to create a congenial atmosphere for talks with Pakistan on Kashmir dispute.

He was talking to media at Srinagar airport on Saturday before leaving for New Delhi on way to Lahore at the head of a seven-member delegation.

He said Pakistan should stress for inclusion of people of Kashmir in the dialogue process with India to make it meaningful and result-oriented.

He said India has to respond to the Hurriyet’s exercise of visiting Pakistan, adding that if it preferred to remain silent after their Pakistan visit, it would be a big loss for India.

New Delhi, the Mirwaiz said, has to create conducive atmosphere for talks by announcing the revocation of draconian law, Armed Forces Special Powers Act, and release of illegally detained Kashmiri political prisoners.

During its weeklong visit to Pakistan‚ the APHC delegation will hold talks with the Pakistani leadership on Kashmir dispute.

The delegation will also meet people of different walks of life and apprise them about the situation prevailing in occupied Kashmir.
