Avani Amul Vora beats Diksha Sanjay Rao to advance into Girl’s Singles U17 semi-final at Amanora Cup

India’s budding shuttler Avani Amul Vora displayed her impressive craft on court and advanced into Girl’s Singles U17 semi-final after crushing Diksha Sanjay Rao in quarter-final battle at Amanora Cup 2012 on Friday, December 28, in Pune.

The higher ranked Avani, who is the fourth seed in the main round, was on a completely different level as she did not show any mercy to her challenger at any stage and remained successful in winning the battle in 20 minutes.

Fourth seeded Avani was in smashing form as she played with tremendous precision and managed to crush her lower ranked challenger Diksha in straight games with a one-sided margin on the board.

The un-seeded Diksha, on the other hand, tried to play positive badminton but failed to stop the aggression of her lower ranked challenger and ultimately went down in a vulnerable manner.

The impressive speed and attacking play of Avani favoured her to take charge of the pace of rallies from the initial points of first game.

Avani showed that she has got top class skills on court and eventually successful in taking a strong domination in the arena.

The higher ranked Avani proceeded with a terrific speed in the starting half and remained in lead on score board until the interval.

Diksha tried to put up strong resistance but remained unable to take charge of rallies and remained trailing in the concluding half.

Avani remained consistent in employing powerful smashes in targeted areas and managed to bag the first set with a stunning score of 21-3.

In the second set, Avani played with stunning speed without leaving any room for Diksha to get a good rhythm.

The perfectly executed smashes and net killings kept Avani ahead of her challenger all the way until the one-minute break in second game.

Avani was calm and positive on court in the concluding points of second set and grabbed the second set with a stunning margin of 21-6.

The impressive Avani easily gave a punishing treatment to Diksha by beating her in straight sets with a smashing 21-3 and 21-6 score on the board.
