Buffon impressed by Bayern’s performance

The Italy international praised the Bavarian giants after Tuesday’s Champions League game, while Leonardo Bonucci stressed that they can still stage a comeback

Juventus FC star goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has hailed Bayern Munich following their 2-0 triumph in the quarter final of the UEFA Champions League at the Allianz Arena in midweek. The veteran player admitted the Italian side were not able to match the Bavarian outfit during the course of the game.

He believes that they were even fortunate to only concede two goals. He further added that Der FCB are a great team and were worthy winners on Tuesday.

“We were up against a magnificent side and they fully deserved to win,” Buffon told the club’s official website.

“They had other chances to score too. We came here with confidence in our own ability. We were right not to change our game, and go for it as we did. We can have no complaints,” the former Parma and Juventus player was quoted as saying in an interview.

“I’m 25 years old and the game against Bayern was the most important of my club career to date,” he said on his official website.

“You dream of these as a youngster and the objective is to win. Once you see that dreams can be achieved you have to go for them,” the player mused.

“I believe, I want to fight, I want to win. Right up until the end, come on Juventus Stadium, come on team Juventus. Let’s fight,” he finally concluded.

On the other hand, defender Leonardo Bonucci still thinks the Serie A team can achieve a miracle. He claimed that he is very young and the clash against the German opposition was the most vital in his playing career. Therefore, he dreams to help his team win in the return leg.
