Imran Khan injured as he fells down from lifter

Chairman of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf, Imran Khan was injured after he fell down from a lifter as he was climbing on a stage in Lahore on Tuesday, his spokesman said.

Khan was climbing on a stage to address a public meeting when he came down along with several activists, the party’s spokesman, Ejaz Chaudhry said.

Chaudhry said that the PTI chief received injuries at head but said he is out of danger.

TV footage showed Khan while bleeding continued from his head.

He was shifted to Shaukat Khanum Hospital for treatment.

Witnesses said that Khan came down from near 20-feet lifter.

Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso expressed his deep concern over the head injury to Imran Khan, the PM office said.

The Prime Minister has wished him well and hoped for his early recovery, a statement said.

The news of Imran Khan’s injuries send a message of shock to his supporters across the country and many people rushed to the hospital.

Chief Election Commissioner and leader of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N), Nawaz Sharif, prayed for Khan’s early recovery.

Police sources said that preliminary investigation suggests that it was an accident. However, the police said they are investigating.
