Gunmen kill police officer, his driver in Peshawar

Unidentified gunmen killed a senior police officer and his driver in Peshawar on Monday, police said.

Amanaullah Khan, deputy superintendent police traffic, came under attack near his house.

Gunmen riding a motorcycle fired at Khan’s car who was heading to his office. He and his driver received bullet injuries and were shifted to hospital.

They died of wounds in hospital, doctors said.

The attackers fled after the shooting. No group claimed responsibility for the attack.

The authorities claim Taliban militants for attacks on police and members of the law enforcement agencies.
