Judicial magistrate Rana Sheheryar has ruled to release the attacker Pomi Butt on bail along with nine other Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) activists on Saturday August 16, 2014 in Gujranwala. The accused were released on surety bonds of Rs100,000 for each person.
Salman Khalid Butt alias Pomi Butt, the brother of PML (N) MPA Imran Khalid Butt, had offered himself for police arrest after PTI alleged him being the mastermind behind the attack on the participants of the azadi march in which PML (N) workers threw stones and fired shots.
Judicial magistrate accepted the surety bonds of the accused and ordered their release on bail. Pomi Butt claimed outside the court that he was innocent and did not take part in the alleged attack on azadi march.
Though police denied the incident of firing, but PAT leaders claimed that fires were shot at the PTI workers.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi had said that Nawaz League workers attempted to kill Imran Khan on Friday when the azadi march was passing through Gujranwala.
