Former advisor to chief minister Punjab and well-known educationist Pirzada Rahat Quddusi joins PTI

The list of traditional politicians that are joining Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) is getting bigger and bigger every day. Most recent addition to this list was of well-known educationist and former advisor to chief minister Punjab, Pirzada Rahat Quddusi.

Quddusi declared his decision to join Tehreek-e-Insaaf after meeting with the chairman Imran Khan at PTI Central Secretariat. Leaders of PTI Zahid Kazmi, Aamir Kayani, Sadaqat Abbasi and Chaudhry Asghar were also present on the occasion.

This progression of getting old faces started after PTI displayed their power in the grand procession of October 30, 2011. Numerous traditional politicians had joined forces with Imran Khan since then and several are seriously considering becoming a part
of the tehreek now.

However, there were also some cracks found in PTI over the inclusion of the old faces, but while welcoming Quddusi to the party, Imran Khan said that his party wants to bring in such people, who are honest and educated so they can bring about revolution
in the traditional politics.

The chairman of PTI at that point in time also said that they believe that politics should be free from corruption and it should remain clean as well. He said, “Together, we would make Pakistan a corruption-free country.”

With the inclusion of a persona like Quddusi, who is well educated and along with that also is familiar with the natty gritty of the politics would always be welcomed to the party’s hub, said Imran.

At that juncture, Imran also praised the considerable services of Rahat Quddusi which he rendered in the fields of both education and politics in Rawalpindi.

While addressing the party members and the media persons, Rahat Quddusi said that before joining PTI, he had taken his close advisers, friends and people of his district in confidence. He also pushed the entire honest and clean politicians of the country
in order to bring the much needed change in Pakistan.

Quddusi also valued the struggle of his leader Imran Khan, who wants to bring a genuine revolution in the country. The new member of the PTI also said that those days are not far when this nation would be on it’s way of development and wealth.

Quddusi is a fine addition to PTI, as in the general elections on provisional assembly of 2008, Rahat got almost 10,000 votes as an independent candidate from Rawalpindi at that time.
