Meesha Shafi rendering her voice to “The Reluctant Fundamentalist”

Meesha Shafi and her husband, Mahmud Rehman, are set to render their voices across the borders after the duo has been given a dream start to Bollywood industry by Mira Nair in “The Reluctant Fundamentalist”.

“The Reluctant Fundamentalist” tells the story of a man whose life is deeply affected by the terrorists attacks on the World Trade Centre.

Hollywood sensational pair Kiefer Sunderland and Kate Hudson are doing the lead role while Meesha Shafi is arguably playing a big role in the much anticipated movie.

Reports in media had earlier suggested Shafi’s inclusion as an actress in the Indian project and now the news have taken another twist that she along with her husband, who is a famous guitarist, are lending their voice to the Indian
movie based upon Mohsin Hamid’s best selling novel.

The star duo were once the integral part of Pakistani famed band “Overload” but due to their differences with Farhad Hamayun, they quit the band saying they will come back with a bang.

Meesha started her professional career with modeling but soon she realized that she had a singer inside her. She tested her fate at the Coke Studio and gained immense popularity while singing alongside Arif Lohar.

It looked like that the teen heart throb singer-cum-model would limit herself to the singing and fashion only but the multi-talented women jumped into acting.

“I was over the moon having met Mira and then I got the call telling me I was cast in The Reluctant Fundamentalist. I am nervous about it, and who wouldn’t be? My co-stars are such legends, it is a daunting thought working with
them but it will be a great learning experience as well.” Shafi was quoted as saying.

She added: “The filming is already underway. A lot of it has been shot. My shoot is right around the corner, but in many ways, my homework has begun.”

The movie has begun its shooting and currently it is being filmed in Delhi. Meesha has filmed some scenes with another Pakistani musician, Rizwan Ahmed, and the Canadian actor, Sunderland, at the great Mughal emperor, Hamayu’s
tomb.
