Kapoor tips Lollywood to improve

The psychopath role played by Sharad Kapoor in his debut effort along with Sushmita Sen (Miss Universe: 1994) in Mahesh Bhatt’s “Dastak” will always be remembered by the Bollywood faithful.

Bollywood has seen such a sensational actor in Kapoor, who has well justified his celebrity stalker role in the aforementioned high tech thriller. He is credited as arguably the best villain of his time and his contribution in
“Josh” had earned him a nomination at the Film Fare Awards (2001).

It is now reported that Kapoor has come to Lahore to discuss some new film projects. While talking to the media in the press club, the Indian famed actor has shared his delight upon crossing the border for a cultural exchange and
highlighted his tour as one of the positive experiences of his life.

“I feel honoured to be here and the press has given me a lot of respect. Lahore’s a great experience and I am glad that I chose to come to Pakistan.”Kapoor was quoted as saying.

To the much delight to Lollywood faithful, the veteran actor expressed his views on the Pakistani film industry. He said that Pakistani actors have all the attributes to succeed in international platforms.

The fact that Moammer Rana (Ek Second, Dobara) and his compatriot Javed Sheikh (Namaste London, Om Shanti Om, Jannat etc) have done well at Bollywood, does not seem to surprise the 35-year-old, who is adamant that Pakistani film
Industry have bags of talent in it.

Kapoor believes fame can overturn an actor to a selfish person and warned the newcomers against it by saying:

“The biggest thing for an actor is to be a great human being. If an aspiring actor is arrogant, he can get by for a couple years but people will have issues with him in the long term. Everyone has the right to enjoy fame, but one
should always have a perspective of the work they are doing.” He concluded.

However, he lamented the current situation of Pakistani cinema and hoped for its revival sooner than later. He believes that lack of technological support and infrastructure are the reason behind their decline at the moment.
