PPP: The party owned by Shaheed Benazir Bhutto failed to reveal her assassins

Shahed Benazir Bhutto, a vibrant champion of democracy was paid homage yesterday at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh, Larkana, mourned by thousands, on the occasion of her fourth death anniversary.

Regardless of inequality in the social status, she left behind many admirers, who joined the ranks of normal party activists and fought with their lives for an ordinary purpose.

In spite of numerous political splits, many will miss Benazir Bhutto, who was famous as daughter of the east. They believe that a truly democratic system require to take a base in this country to futile any future efforts at recklessness.

Some may not agree about deals she negotiated for making a comeback into the country. However, she was a brave politician who struggled for the rights of the masses.

Let’s address the cloudier side of the equivalence. The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), the party owns by Benazir Bhutto, has been at the steer of problem since it came into power, back in 2008.

President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani and many other cabinet members claimed that they had information about the BB’s killers and they will be brought them before justice. However, they said to be waiting for a correct time in
this regard.

Such claims do not implant confidence among the masses but at the same time leads to the view that the incumbent government is actually pushing aside the matter.

It is clear that there has been a gigantic government failure on this account that cannot be explicated away by such tactics and claims. The killers should be apprehended without any delay if the concerned officials have knowledge about them. Who will answer
these questions?

Did Baitullah Mehsud and homicidal associates in the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) kill Benazir Bhutto?

Where was the plan hatched if it was in an entirely different quarter? Was the then government or any agency involved in the assassination? What was the role of those leaders who were being pointed out by Benazir Bhutto in her letter? Was any foreign power
provided assistance the killers in accomplishing their task?

The incumbent government should close the case and acknowledge its failure if it did not have credible answers. If the current PPP-led government can’t resolve the case, it is implausible that any other government will do so.
