5. Reservoir Dogs

Reservoir Dogs is a 1992 crime film which depicts the events before and after a diamond heist, but not the heist itself. It was released on October 23rd, 1992 and distributed by Miramax Films.

Quentin Tarantino made his debut as a director and he was also the writer of the movie. Harvey Keitel, Tim Roth, Chris Penn, Steve Buscemi, Lawrence Tierney and Eddie Bunker are all featuring in this film.

The $1.2 million budgeted movie grossed $18,661,007 from the box office and it is produced by Lawrence Bender.

4. Le Cercle Rouge

Receiving 95 percent approval from the review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes, Le Cercle Rouge is an epic piece of Jean-Pierre Melville. The 140 minutes movie title’s means ‘The Red Circle’ which refers to the film epigraph which translates as "Siddhartha
Gautama, the Buddha, drew a circle with a piece of red chalk and said: ‘When men, even unknowingly, are to meet one day, whatever may befall each, whatever the diverging paths, on the said day, they will inevitably come together in the red circle.’”

The movie is famously known for its final heist sequence which lasted for half an hour.

3. Vertigo

Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo teams him up with James Stewart once again in a strange, slow-burning thriller of mysterious lives. Stewart stars as a detective, John Ferguson, who retired after his fear of heights resulted in the death of an officer.
He is hired to tail a woman whose husband is suspicious of her. The lady visits a grave of a woman she doesn’t know, stares at a portrait of woman she doesn’t know and is eventually killed.   

2. The Third Man

Joseph Cotten stars as Holly Martins who visits a funeral of his good friend, black-market opportunist Harry Lime. As time passes, Martins discovers some secrets, eventually investigating the mysterious death of his friend.  

Many critics rank the 104 minutes thriller as a masterpiece, particularly remembered for its atmospheric cinematography, performances, and unique musical score.  It was released on September 2nd, 1949 and directed and produced by Carol Reed.

Hans Becker (starred by Pete Lorre) is an elusive child killer whose crimes set off a wave of fear and suspicion among the public. Both the police and the underworld are eager to put an end to the killings, and each use the powers at their disposal to capture
Becker.

Masterpiece of Fritz Lang, M, was released on May 11th, 1931 in Germany and on May 3rd, 1933 in United States. The 117 minutes movie has become a classic which Lang himself considered his finest work.
