Asif Ali Zardari is the biggest thief of the country – Imran Khan

Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf, Imran Khan has said that the present regime of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is the worst government in the 64-year-old history of the country and the President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari is the biggest thief of Pakistan.

Imran is fast emerging as the most popular political figure of the country since his massive public meetings in Lahore and Karachi last year.

The present government is facing massive challenges through Supreme Court of Pakistan and the Army. The judiciary is expected to give tough verdicts on the NRO case as well as the memo-gate controversy.

However, the irony is that the present government has openly mad fun of the judiciary and refused to implement the decisions of the highest court of the country.

Imran has backed the decision of the Supreme Court of Pakistan to issue a notice of contempt of court to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Yousuf Raza Gillani. The Chairman PTI has expressed that his party is going to go towards civil disobedience if the government
does not implement the decisions of the judiciary.

Imran said, “The Supreme Court has issued contempt of court notice to the prime minister, because he did not fulfill his responsibilities. If the parliament starts providing justice, then the courts should be shut down. Parliament has its own responsibilities,
the courts have their own.”

Gillani is expected to appear in front of the court on the 19th of January, 2012 and he will have to answer to the court that why his government has openly refused to write a letter to the Swiss government regarding the controversial bank accounts
of Zardari.

While talking about the possible dialogue with Pakistan Muslim League (N), Imran expressed that Nawaz Sharif and company will have to first resign from the national and provincial assemblies in order to show seriousness of removing the government.

“Their (PML-N’s) quitting the Parliament would build pressure on the PPP-led corrupt government to hold snap polls and give way to a new leadership for steering the country out of the crises,” the cricketer turned politician added.
