China supports Pakistan political forces for national stability

Beijing: (Tuesday, January 17, 2012) Favouring the maintainability of democracy in Pakistan, China has said it will support the political forces to play their role in stability and development of its immediate neighbour and seasoned
friend.

Marking its remarks during a regular press release, the Foreign Ministry’s spokesman Liu Weimin commented on the recent political flux in Pakistan. He said, “As Pakistan’s friendly neighbor, China supports all Pakistani political
forces to maintain unity and harmony, from the overall situation of social stability and economic development.”

China, having it at heart of its foreign policy, has always abstained from interfering in the internal affairs of its neighbours.

Recently, relationships between Pakistan’s political setup and military establishment deteriorated when it was alleged that the civil government had requested the U.S to intervene to save the country from a military coup through
a memo.

Considering it a treason to national security and sovereignty, the military establishment reacted to the news and demanded a thorough investigation into the matter. Expressing its concern over the issue, Pakistan Muslim League
Nawaz, one of the leading opposition parties in the country have invoked Supreme Court’s help to probe into the matter.

Earlier, U.S has also declared the current political flux in Pakistan as the country’s internal matter and expressed its policy of non intervention with regard to its allies.
