US will wait for Pakistan to reassess relationships: Marc Grossman

New Delhi: The US special envoy for Pakistan and Afghanistan, Marc Grossman said today during his visit to India that US would wait till Pakistan reassessed and re-evaluated the relationships between the two countries.

Expressing his country’s willingness to get engaged into dialogues with Pakistan on issues concerning both the nations, Grossman said that US was willing for dialogue at “any time, any point” whenever Pakistan was ready to reengage.

Grossman, who called on India’s Foreign Secretary Ranjan Mathai today, while talking to the reporters said that US supported the civilian government and democracy in Pakistan.

Commenting upon the present political situation of the country, the American envoy said that although the US supported democracy and civilian government of the country, but it was its own matter, and it was Pakistan’s right to
proceed with it in its own way.

He said, “This is question for Pakistanis. This is an internal question for them. They have their own ways of going forward and I would not comment any further on internal developments.”
