Mohsin Khan wants a full time coaching contract

Pakistan’s interim coach Mohsin Hasan Khan wants a full time coaching contract with the national side after back to back series victories against Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and England.

"What Mohsin Khan is today is because of Pakistan and Pakistan cricket," he said. "My services are always there for my country but I don’t want anybody to take me for granted. People were saying that performing well against Sri Lanka
and Bangladesh was nothing great, okay agreed, but to perform against England, whether they are No. 1 or not, is always creditable."

Mohsin replaced Waqar Younis, who did a fabulous job with the team during his stint. The Men in Green were put on a winning track, but the legendary fast bowler had to quit his job due to some personal reasons.

Since the team was without a coach, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) gave Mohsin the job on temporary basis. However, chairman of the board Zaka Ashraf clarified that he wanted a professional to take the responsibility.

This is why, PCB officials are in talks with former Sri Lankan coach Dav Whatmore, who recently visited Pakistan.

Despite that, Mohsin wants to be given charge of the team, as he believes that Misbah-ul-Haq and his men have performed exceptionally well under his coaching.

Pakistan did not seem to be much confident against Sri Lanka last year, but they have outplayed England completely, winning the series 2-0 with one more Test to go.

Being the chairman of the national selection committee, Mohsin wanted credit of finding the right combination for the team. He said, "I was the one who selected them because a year and a half back when I became chairman of the selection committee we
picked up these two youngsters and I felt they were very talented," he said. "All the credit goes to the boys because they played well under tough conditions."

Pakistan will play one more Test against England before going into the limited-over format. The team will probably have a new coach for their next series, as the PCB chairman does not really have confidence in the current interim coach.
