Junaid Khan releases “So close so distant”

Call the band, lead singer, Junaid Khan has gifted the Pakistani music lovers with his latest English song “So Close so distant” with an American famed singer, Jennifer Jandis.

Khan expressed his delight upon releasing the latest song, revealing that he is expecting much from his latest venture. He revealed that the song portrays the situation of a couple in a long distance relationship and went on to
reveal that when did the idea behind the song come to his mind.

He revealed that the idea clicked while he was going to New York to shoot for an upcoming Hum TV drama serial “Mata-e-Jaan” by the famous Pakistani drama director, Mehreen Jabbar.

Khan went on to reveal that he composed the music and write the lyric for the English song. The video, that is said to be inspired form 1980’s rock ballads, has been shot in Washington DC, America.

“I always wanted to write something in English,” says Khan who has previously recorded two English covers for Stage Monks. “It’s always interesting to collaborate with other artists, an artist gets to learn so much more. I have
always believed that when two artists think alike and complement each other, they create magic and this song is magical for me.”

He added: “People in the West really appreciate Pakistani classical music even if they don’t understand a word as it touches the soul. I believe music is about expression and not language,”

Junaid admitted that bands like Linkin Park, Incubus, Creed and Pearl Jam influenced him to come to the music industry. He revealed that he is considering giving a solo album in the near future just like Xulfi, who has been working
for an Indian project.

The multi-talented actor-cum-singer revealed his love for acting. He admitted that he has established a wonderful chemistry with Mehreen while shooting Mata-e-Jaan. The drama serial has been adopted by a Farhan Ishtiaq’s novel.
