Lamont Peterson’s fight with Amir Khan on December 10, 2011 ended up in a storm of controversy but both fighters are once set to take on each other in their rematch, which will take place on May 19 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada and keeping in front what happened in their last fight, it is fair to say that it will be one of the most intense grudge matches.

Initially, Peterson was not willing to fight Khan and many thought he is just doing it because he knows if he will give Khan a rematch, he will lose. However, the American pugilist, who was awarded with a split decision last time, has insisted that the reason why he was not fighting Khan was not this.

Peterson, who holds a record of winning 30 of his 32 professional fights (1 Draw), with 15 of his fights coming by the way of a knockout, stated that being a title holder he just wanted to look at all the possible options.

Peterson remarked, “I want everyone to know that, as champion, it has always been up to me what fight to take next. I was not persuaded by any of the controversy or anything else.

“I feel really good about my decision,” said Peterson. “I went over every option available to me in terms of the fights that were on the table.”

The 25-year-old Bolton’s finest, who is more commonly known as King Khan, spoke a lot after losing to Peterson but the Havoc believes this time he will shut him up forever.

He concluded, “I just want to be clear that I never said I wouldn’t fight him, but I wanted to take a look at everything that was out there before I made a decision. I’m happy with the terms of the fight. It’s at a neutral site and, when I beat him this time, he won’t have anything to complain about.”

Well, all said and done, Khan will certainly put all of his best against Peterson but let’s see if Peterson can still beat him.
