No differences within PTI – Dr. Shireen Mazari

Vice-President of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI), Dr. Shireen Mazari has dismissed all claims regarding the differences within the party and said that there is complete harmony within the top leadership of the emerging political force of the country.

Imran Khan, the Chairman of PTI has been a very popular political figure in Pakistan since the last decade but there were a number of question marks over his party. However, things have changed drastically for PTI since last six months as it emerged as the
third major political force of Pakistan after a massive public procession at Lahore on the 30th of October, 2011.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League (N) are the two big parties in Pakistan but their performance in last couple of decades has been pathetic. Now the people of Pakistan are looking at PTI to deliver the goods.

A number of political figures have joined PTI in last five months and Mazari made it clear that PTI will never compromise on its ideology and the people joining the party will have to follow the party’s policy on the major issues of the country.

While talking about the differences in the party, Mazari expressed that PTI has a very democrative culture within its ranks but one should not confuse difference of opinion with difference within the party.

Mazari said, “Given the highly democratic nature of the PTI, there was a ‘debate and dissension’ within the Party meetings through which a consensus would be evolved. All the new people who have joined the PTI have accepted the party’s ideology. PTI respects
all its members equally and no one is vilified or insulted.”

The vice-President revealed that PTIs next target is southern Punjab and the party is looking to strengthen its organization in the districts around Multan.

“The first wave of the Tsunami in southern Punjab would be commencing from today (Tuesday) beginning with a public meeting in Bahawalnagar and then Imran Khan would address public meetings in Hasilpur, Ahmadpur East, Muzaffargarh and Khanewal,” she expressed.

Mazari further added that PTI will hold a huge procession in Quetta in April and said, “Later, on April 20, a huge public meeting would be held in Quetta and the media would also be informed of the party’s scheduled pogrammes.”
