Should you buy a new computer now or wait for another four months? – Part 1

When it comes to new technology in the computing world, the evolution is so fast that a device purchased a couple months ago becomes outdated two weeks after. I personally had the same experience when I purchased a new laptop in 2009, and after a period of four months ruthless Intel launched Core i-series, hushing away my confidence.

I believe a lot of people have had the same incidence and unfortunately in the last two odd years the speed has increased exponentially. There is no way a user can keep his satisfaction for a semester after purchasing a new device. The worst case scenario is that he might hear some news that an upgrade to the existing line of processors from Intel has just been announced, when he is unboxing his brand new laptop, or a tablet or a smartphone, Droid Razr popped in my mind for an instance.

However, considering the improvements processor manufacturers and computer manufacturers bring to their devices and circuits is so fast that you will eventually end up disappointed in a matter of weeks, waiting for a new release is pointless, to some extent of course.

Intel announced at the Consumer Electronics Show 2012 that they will be launching the new line of Ivy Bridge processors in the start of the second calendar quarter 2012. NVIDIA accompanied them with a new line of graphics cards and quad-core processors for smartphones.

As the new line of Intel processors is around the corner, literally, the point of getting a new device poses some conflicting questions to those who have marked their calendars to purchase a new computer, desktop or laptop.
