Sujoy Ghosh: I am not making any film with Vidya Balan or Amitabh Bachchan

There Indian filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh is currently enjoying the success of ‘Kahaani’ and he is now planning to make a sequel to the film. However, the rumours revolving around suggested that perhaps the director is going to make the film with Vidya Balan and Amitabh Bachchan but when asked, Ghosh immediately rejected all reports.

Reacting to the buzz that Vidya and Big B will play pivotal roles in the cinematic adaptation of writer Sunil Gagopadhyay’s Bengali novel, ‘Aranyer Din Ratri’, Ghosh said, “I am not making any film with Vidya or Amitabh Bachchan.”

The director insisted that he has previously casted Amitabh Bachchan in ‘Aladin’ and all he said was that he would to work with Mr. Bachchan again.

He added, “It’s like Chinese whispers! I had said that I would love to work with Vidya and Amitji again, and I had also expressed my desire to do a film based on Aranyer Din Ratri. People just co-related it all!”

The 45-year-old stated that he has not even written the script of the film as of yet so how can Vidya or Mr. Bachchan agree to do a film with him.

“Why would Vidya or Amitabh Bachchan agree to do a film without even reading the script?” he asked.

Ghosh, who recently roped Mr. Bachchan to sing the famous Tagore song, Ekla Cholo Re, in ‘Kahaani’, made his directorial debut in 2003 with ‘Jhankaar Beats’, which did an excellent business at the Box Office. Nevertheless, his following two films ‘Home Delivery Aapko… Ghar Tak’ and ‘Aladin’ sank at the BO without any trace but ‘Kahaani’ has brought him back under the main lights once again.

Let’s see if he can really make another good film because now he will certainly find many who would love to invest their money on him.
