Moreover, the design is one of the best in the competition. The side fenders give the look of a coke-bottle curve and wheel base is lower than the current trend in the market. In comparison to the LM002, the Urus is lowers to the ground and does not incorporate much height at 1.6 metres from the ground to the roof top.

“I wanted it low enough so a dog could jump in the back,” said Filippo Perini, its chief head designer.

Furthermore, the Urus is equipped with the latest technology. The wing mirrors are tag-like in shape with cameras installed in them to give a rear-view from the sides on the screens nestled inside. The triangular notch at front of the hood and rear and front spoilers give the vehicle a singular looks whereas, the Urus inherits the aesthetics of the Lambo designs in its large intakes, on either side of the body. The Y-shaped headlamps and arrow-shaped body all contribute to give it a sporty look.

The Lambo churns out a massive 600 horsepowers from the engine in the front to all wheels simultaneously. However, the power train is fixed to provide the hps to all wheels; there is no option of wheel-selection, like most SUVs get.

If all goes to plan, as evident by the positive reaction from the press, the Urus is expected to sell like hot cakes. Lambo is planning to market the vehicle in the US, the UK, Germany, Russia, the Middle East and China.

The LM002 could sell only 300 units in its production era before it was plugged off in 1992. On the other hand, experts believe the Urus will be a hit in the targeted markets. They expect to see around 3,000 of them for a first production round.
