Victorian International: Andhika Anhar – Nurvita Hanadia Keshya grab Mixed Doubles crown

Andhika Anhar and Nurvita Hanadia Keshya, the talented shuttler from Indonesia, showed their tremendous craft on court and grabbed Mixed Doubles crown at the Li-Ning Victorian International 2012 last week.

In the title match, the Indonesians put up spectacular show of top class badminton and defeated Australia’s Ross Smith and Renuga Veeran in a lopsided fashion.

The second seeded Andhika and Nurvita continued their killing performance in the final battle of the event and won the crown in an authoritative fashion.

The inform Nurvita and Andhika commanded the pace with an impressive ease as they controlled the rallies and thrashed their Australian opponents in straight games without dropping any set.

In the meanwhile, Ross and Renuga failed to stretch their positive run in the final battle as they failed to overpower the mighty Indonesians.

The Australians could not control the pace of rallies and eventually lost the battle to their higher ranked rivals in straight games in just 31 minutes.

Both couples played at their best speed and also progressed close at initial stage of first game.

Nonetheless, Andhika and Nurvita took over the control while becoming quick in all areas and established a decent lead on the score board until the end of first half.

After the mid-game break, the Indonesian shuttlers continued showing their impressive skills and extended the gap on score board with an impressive craft.

Andhika and Nurvita were calm and collected on court and grabbed the first game with a reasonable 21-17 score on the board.

The second seeded Nurvita and Andhika showed their brilliance from the opening points of second game and took an early lead by pushing their rivals on back foot.

The in-form Indonesians were miles ahead on the score board until the one-minute interval.

After the mid-game break, Nurvita and Andhika remained consistent in their positive and authoritative play as they spared no chance for their rivals to narrow the difference.

The powerful and angled smashes of Nurvita and Andhika helped them to end up the second game in a lopsided fashion by a stunning score of 21-12.

The higher ranked Nurvita and Andhika grabbed the crown by ending up the final encounter with a thrashing 21-17 and 21-12 score on the board.
