Jan O Jorgensen sends Chong Wei Feng packing in Men’s Singles first round of All England Open

Denmark’s talented player Jan O Jorgensen started his journey in a dominating fashion as he played superb badminton and outplayed Malaysia’s Chong Wei Feng in Men’s Singles first round at Yonex All England Open Badminton Championships at Birmingham, on Wednesday, March 6.

The in-form Jorgensen, who has been working hard to earn a respectable place in Men’s Singles category at world stage, showed his remarkable skills in the arena and managed to outplay his Malaysian challenger in a commanding fashion.

Danish shuttler occupied the driving seat from the opening points of the match and he did not face any considerable problem in winding up this first round clash in straight sets with a staggering margin of 21-11 and 21-14 in just 31 minutes.

Wei Feng, in the meanwhile, could not played quivering game as he failed to match the pace of rallies and remained struggling in the arena. He also committed many mistakes and eventually went down without even getting close to his Danish rival.

The impressive speed and powerful strokes of Jorgensen helped him to take control of the pace right from the opening rallies of opening game.

Jorgensen showed that he has got top class skills on court and remained successful in taking a strong position in the arena. Until the one-minute interval, the lofty Jorgensen was leading the game with a comfortable difference.

The underdog Wei Feng failed to get stronger after the one-minute interval as he lost his focus on court and started to make unforced errors.

Jorgensen was very calm and composed on court as he did not play negative badminton and ended up the first set with a comfortable margin of 21-11.

Wei Feng was again in all sorts of trouble in the second game as he received a hostile treatment from his rival who was at his best on court.

Jorgensen was in incredible control of the game and he did not face any problem in building a stunning gap until the end of first half.

The tricky and positive play in the concluding half of second set assisted Jorgensen to win the set with a reasonable 21-14 total on the board.
