Pakistan regrets Indian cancellation of hockey series

Pakistan on Friday regretted the Indian government decision to cancel its bilateral hockey series as tension grows between the two uneasy neighbours.
The Pakistan’s hockey team was scheduled to tour India next month for five Test matches, which would have revived the bilateral hockey ties between the two traditional rivals in nearly seven years.
Pakistan was expected to play matches in the cities of Ranchi, Lucknow, Delhi, Mohali and Jalandhar between April 5-15, Indian media has reported.
After Pakistan’s visit, the Indian team was scheduled to pay a return visit and play five matches in Lahore, Faisalabad, Karachi and Sialkot from April 23.
India also delayed implementation of the Visa Agreement, which was recently signed to promote people-to-people contact.
It is believed that India has taken the decision a day after Pakistani parliament adopted a resolution, urging India to hand over the body of a Kashmiri leader Afzal Guru who was hanged last month for his alleged role in the 2001 attack on Indian parliament.
The Pakistani Foreign Ministry said that sports, cultural events and people-to-people contacts build trust and confidence between the two countries.
“Pakistan believes that in the larger interest of maintaining peace between Pakistan and India, sustained and uninterrupted implementation of confidence building process including sports events is required,” the Foreign Ministry spokesman said in response to the cancellation of India-Pakistan Hockey Tournament and delays in implementation of the Visa Agreement.
The Spokesman further stated that the Government of Pakistan remains fully committed to the peace process and composite dialogue between Pakistan and India, including enhanced people-to-people contacts and friendly exchanges.

India cannot be blamed better ask your assembly why it passed resolution against internal matter of India at all and that too on last day of your assembly session knowing very well that India will not sit idle.pakistans has cancelled the series not India better blame your politician.
