Bomber kills 30 police officers, civilian in Quetta’s funeral

A suicide bomber Thursday killed at least 30 people, mostly police officers, during a funeral of a police officer in Quetta, officials and witnesses said.
Police chief Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera said that Deputy Inspector General Operations, Fayaz Ahmad Sunbal, Superintendent Police, Anwar Khiji and Deputy Superintendent Police, Shams were among those killed in the attack in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province.
He said that 21 people have been identified and all are police officers.
Police sources said that the bomber succeeded to sneak into the funeral at a police center despite tight security.
Police said over 15 other people were injured in the attack. The injured were shifted to a military and civil hospital. Several injured were registered critical.
TV footage showed the people were lying on ground minutes after the bomb exploded.
The police officers were at the funeral of a police officer, Mohibullah, who was killed in firing by unidentified people in Quetta earlier in the morning.
No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
Militants, sectarian and anti-government armed groups are blamed for attacks on security forces.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif strongly condemned the ghastly acts of sabotage and murder of innocent Pakistanis.
He saluted the courage and commitment of the law enforcement agencies across the country and asked the Interior Minister to ensure all help to the families of the martyred and injured.
The Prime Minister‚ while expressing his resolve to fight the enemies of people of Pakistan‚ has directed the Interior Minister to present the final Draft of Counter Terrorism Strategy on August 30 in the light of earlier discussions and consultations on the subject.

Very Very Unfortunate incident especially in this month.
CHOICE for POlice and Army is very clear here…., Get fully trained and professional and go get these terrorists BEFORE they can come and KILL you in cold blood !!!!!
Sitting, waiting , avoiding and being lazy and non professional will give birth to such unfortunate incidences.
