No hurdle in Taliban talks, says Information Minister

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rashid has said there is no hurdle in the dialogue with Taliban.

 

Talking to media in Islamabad on Wednesday evening‚ he said those elements who want to sabotage peace in the country will not succeed in their mission.

 

He said that the government will continue its efforts to make Pakistan a safe and peaceful country.

 

He said that all political parties have formulated a unanimous policy for the dialogue with the extremists and the government will implement this in letter and spirit.

The Information Minister paid rich tributes to the army officers who were martyred in Upper Dir last week and said that those brave men have sacrificed their lives for peace in the country and their sacrifices will not go waste.

 

Pervez Rashid said all out efforts will be made to put the country on the path of development.  

To a question‚ the Minister said that about 500 cases of capital punishment are pending and the decision is awaited. He said the action in this regard will be taken according to the laws and constitution of the country.
