UN Reports Claim Drones Have Reduced in Pakistan

It was recently reported from Geneva that the number of US drone strikes have reduced in Pakistan over the years and they have increased in the neighbouring country, Afghanistan.

US claimed that the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan is a hub for the terrorist organization, Tehreek E Taliban, who they believe were the masterminds behind the 9/11 attacks which took place in America.

This is the reason why, in order to eliminate these people, the US army sent down drones in Afghanistan so they could get rid of this organization altogether.

In a recent report which came from UN, it was stated that US is now focusing more on Afghanistan as compared to Pakistan as both the countries were being bombarded by drones.

Since Pakistan protested against the US drones several times in the UN, this is the reason why US has stopped these attacks.

However, both the countries are still quite unsafe as the world superpower can bombard the area whenever it wants.

There have been almost 30 drone strikes which have killed civilians in Pakistan and Afghanistan. This frequency is now being reduced by the US military but now they are trying to use their drones for only high-value targets.
