It was recently reported from Islamabad that the peace talks between the Pakistani government and the outlawed organization, Tehreek E Taliban, have commenced. According to a spokesman, Maulana Sami Ul Haq has been leading both the delegations.

The spokesman claimed that Maulana Sami Ul Haq wants a positive outcome from these talks and that is why he is trying to take the matters into his own hands.

Sources also reported that the Pakistani government’s committee consists of Major (retired) Amir, Rustam Shah Mohmand, Habibullah Khattak, Arbab Arif and Fawad Hassan Fawad.

The peace talks are currently one ray of hope for both the parties as this is the first time that the Pakistani government and Tehreek E Taliban are trying to share a common ground.

Since the past several years, the feud between the two parties has seen people dying on both sides. While Pakistan several innocent people on a daily basis, Taliban lost their militants whenever the Pakistani government decided to hold an operation in North Waziristan.

The most recent operation took place in the start of March. The Pakistani government decided to go for an airstrike operation where more than 30 militants lost their lives as their hideouts were bombarded.
