Geo TV Apologizes to Pakistan Army

The war of words between Geo TV and Pakistan Army has finally ended as the Jung Group-owned, Geo TV, has apologized to not only the Pakistan army but also the intelligence agency, ISI.

Recently Geo TV accused the ISI chief, Zaheer Ul Islam, for the attacks which saw the Geo TV news anchor, Hamid Mir, getting severely injured as he had four bullet wounds on his body.

After this particular incident, there are several other incidents which have taken place on the TC channel.  For instance, most recently they were accused of blasphemy as they showed Veena Malik’s marriage live on television.

Now the news group has decided to apologize and they came out with an apology letter on The News. While talking about the incident they said,

“We have always appreciated their sacrifices to safeguard our borders and the security of our country. After serious retrospection, editorial debates, feedback and engagement with all parties, directly and indirectly, we have concluded that our coverage immediately after the tragic and unnerving attack on Hamid Mir on April 19 was excessive, distressful and emotional.”

They also spoke about how their particular allegations were misleading and inappropriate. For now Geo News is blocked in several areas of the country and no one knows whether it will be back soon or not.
