Imran Khan demands audit of entire elections 2013

Imran Khan has finally demanded the audit of entire electoral process and reaffirmed that his party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will stage Azadi march on August 14 in Islamabad as planned for “real freedom”. PTI chief was addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Tuesday July 15, 2014 along with other party leaders.

Imran Khan said that every legal avenue was used during the past 14 months to seek justice against the rigging of elections in four electoral constituencies without any fruit, thus our party has decided to use our right of peaceful protest. He, however, did not elaborate why his party decide to stage protest rally on a day when the whole nation is celebrating the independence day on August 14?

PTI chairman claimed that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has risked the lives of the Pakistan army personals by launching operation in North Waziristan just to stay in power. Imran Khan said that Nawaz Sharif did not take him into confidence before starting the Operation Zarb-e-Azb.

Imran Khan said that if there can be verification of votes in Afghan presidential elections then why it cannot be done in Pakistan? In Afghanistan it is recounting of the votes which is different from verification of the votes Imran Khan is demanding in Pakistan.

Imran Khan alleged that current government is not interested to work for the welfare of the people of Pakistan as it is not ruling the country with the votes of Pakistanis.

PTI chairman said that we do not want any clashes with the army. The army parade is scheduled in the morning while PTI tsunami will reach the capital in the evening.  He said that if government tried to stop our long march then government will be responsible for its own destruction.

Imran Khan also said that Nawaz Sharif should resign over the situation of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP). He further demanded the resignation of the Shahbaz Sharif over Model Town Lahore tragedy and Abid Sher’s resignation over the failure of the Nandi Pur power project.
