PTI Parliamentarians submit resignations

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Parliamentarians have finally submitted the resignations to the Secretary National Assembly on Friday August 22, 2014. Resignations are part of Imran Khan’s protest against rigging in 2013 elections.

PTI leaders Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Arif Alvi and Shireen Mazari submitted the resignations of 34 member National Assembly in a sealed envelop to the Speaker’s office.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf members of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly did not resign as the party is in power in the province.

Imran Khan claims that rigging in the elections 2013 was orchestrated by Nawaz Sharif in all the provinces except Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Imran Khan and Dr. Tahirul Qadri are staging sit-ins outside the Parliament House demanding removal of Nawaz Sharif from power and creating a caretaker government.

Opposition in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has submitted no-confidence motion against the PTI Chief Minister Pervez Khattak.
