Imran’s lawyer responded without consultation, Shireen Mazari

Shireen Mazari, Secretary Information, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Tuesday told reporters in Islamabad that PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s statement in connection with former chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry’s petition over defamation was submitted without consultation and approval.

PTI Secretary Information denied that Imran Khan has changed his stance on the role of former Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry in the alleged rigging in 2013 polls. Shireen Mazari further added that Imran Khan did not have time to discuss the issue with his lawyer as he is busy in Azadi march.

Shireen Mazari claimed that PTI’s lawyer Hamid Khan drafted the statement on behalf of Imran Khan and submitted without having the chance to discuss it with PTI chairman.

Shireen Marazi’s statement suggests that Hamid Khan has violated the code of professional conduct by submitting a statement without consulting with his client.
