Pak-China relationship not a menace to other nations: General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani

Pakistan Chief of the Army staff General Pervez Kayani has made a statement on Thursday that Pakistan’s relations with the Asian economical giant China cannot be a hazard for any other country.

He revealed while talking to the media during Pak-China joint Army exercises in Jhelum that Pakistan had strategic relations with their neighbour country China and the ongoing joint military exercises will further strengthen the ties between the two nations.

The general further added that the collaboration between the two nations would also facilitate to endorse peace in the region.

General Hou Shusen, the peoples Liberation Army Deputy Chief, who was also present at the occasion, said that ties between Pakistan and China were strengthening over the years. He added that such exercises were proof of efforts made against terrorism in
the region.

President Asif Ali Zardari confers Nishan-i-Imtiaz on Chinese general

Pakistan President Mr. Asif Ali Zardari conferred Nishan-i-Imtiaz (military) on Chinese General Hou Shusen on Wednesday for promoting relationship between Pakistan and China. The special medal conferring ceremony was held at the President House Islamabad.

President also met with the delegation that came along with the Chinese General Hou Shusen and discussed various issues relating to Pak-China mutual relations and defence cooperation.

Mr. Zardari termed the neighbour country China as a cause of stability in the region and said that the convergence of interests and harmony of visions on bilateral, regional and international issues had brought the two nations closer.

He said that the conversion of political and strategic relations into an economic partnership would enhance socio-economic growth besides contributing towards regional stability.
