Are your internet activities private and secure? Think again!

Majority of internet users think what they do on the internet is private and will not be tracked as long as they are using a fake name. However, over the years this illusion has been broken down by a number of hackers, or crackers in this particular case.
Many websites have shown the real face of privacy delusion over the last one decade.

Recently a Russian website, YouHaveDownloaded published a list of users who have downloaded a number of video, data and music files from internet through Bit Torrent client applications. It is no secret that Bit Torrent and its various other applications
like the uTorrent are not safe at all. This P2P (peer-to=peer) software already tracks the applications from other computer (seeds) and feeds to requestors (leeches).

However, what was behind curtains all this time was pinpoint tracking loophole that was spotlighted by the Russian website. If the users thought their internet service provider (ISP) had been using dynamic internet protocol (IP) addresses, than this is illusion
should wear off now.

The Russian website stated that no matter what IP the user was using at the time of reconnaissance, every machine leaves an e-fingerprint that can be used to track his/her computer  down again. And besides, the sorting is done in respect to the file that
is downloaded, hence a populated list of users.

This new revelation is quite upsetting for those who had been oblivious to the reality and as much surprising to those who had knowledge of it and deliberately ignored it.

The most bewildering news is that this website points out the specific location of the download; that are who, what and where. Therefore, if a user was downloading a video file at the workplace, he/she will certainly have a hard time explaining to the boss,
how important is ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ to his/her work.

The reason for such an audacious activity, according to the administrators of the Russian website, is to reveal to the people, how insecure and public are the activities on the internet although they are done in user’s own privacy.
